Deprecated report. This report was created early in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Increased reporting and quality in hospital data have rendered the estimated datasets obsolete. Updates to this report will be discontinued on July 29, 2021.
This time series dataset includes viral COVID-19 laboratory test [Polymerase chain reaction (PCR)] results from over 1,000 U.S. laboratories and testing locations including commercial and reference laboratories, public health laboratories, hospital laboratories, and other testing locations. Data are reported to state and jurisdictional health departments in accordance with applicable state or local law and in accordance with the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act (CARES Act Section 18115).
This crosswalk was created by merging a few different datasets (some of which are Census Bureau datasets). The tech teams participating in TOP may still decide to use this dataset, but should be aware that this dataset was a one-time upload meant to provide a synthesized snapshot of some health equity indicators at one point during the pandemic.
The CDC/ATSDR Social Vulnerability Index (SVI) is a place-based index, database, and mapping tool to assist public health officials with identifying and quantifying socially vulnerable communities. We have developed and validated SVI databases for U.S. census tracts and counties at both national and state levels, including databases for Puerto Rico and tribal tracts. Since starting development of the SVI in 2007 and releasing the first database in 2011, we have produced six SVI databases for the years of 2000, 2010, 2014, 2016, 2018, and 2020 with planned updates for every two years.
Experimental estimates of telemedicine access and use for three rounds of RANDS (Research and Development Survey) during COVID-19. Data collection for the three rounds of RANDS during COVID-19 occurred between June 9, 2020 and July 6, 2020, August 3, 2020 and August 20, 2020, and May 17, 2021 and June 30, 2021. RANDS during COVID-19 included questions about whether providers offered telemedicine (including video and telephone appointments) in the last 2 months—both during and before the pandemic—and about the use of telemedicine in the last 2 months during the pandemic.
